Cooking Instructions for Ribeye Valentine Steak

Important:
Cook before eating.
Store below 3°C.
Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking for even results.

Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak:
Pat the steak dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over high heat until smoking hot.
Add a small amount of oil and place the steak in the pan.

Cook for:
2–3 minutes per side for rare,
3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare,
4–5 minutes per side for medium.

For a heartier cut like 500g, finish in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan 160°C) or Gas Mark 4 for an additional 5–7 minutes.

Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serving Suggestions:
Pair with creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed greens, and a red wine jus or peppercorn sauce for a restaurant-quality meal at home.

Cooking Tip:
For added flavour, baste the steak with butter, garlic, and fresh thyme during the final minute of cooking.
